Welcome to the Stuart Cameron McLeod Society (SCMS) of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Our website contains information designed to enhance the value of membership in SCMS. Of course, the best way to get maximum benefit is to participate in SCMS activities, details of which will be included in the Communications and Events sections of this web site. Communications – We intend to publish a newsletter, The Spotlight, four times a year, which will be e-mailed to members and posted on this website. The newsletter will include details of upcoming meetings and activities, as well as a variety of news and other information. If you’d like to contribute an article or some other item for the newsletter or website, contact Alan Fletcher, Communications Chair (afletche@aegonusa.com), or Kathy Smith, Webmaster (kasmith1870@aol.com).
Events – Our primary function of the year is the induction of new members, annual meeting and dinner/dance held on the Monday evening of IMA’s Annual Conference. This was in Tampa, FL on June 16, 2008 and will be in Denver, CO on June 8, 2009. We also have a “mid-year” meeting, which includes a variety of social, educational and networking activities. This year we’ll be in Albuquerque, NM on October 9 – 12, 2008.
Membership – While all SCMS members are IMA members, not every IMA member may join SCMS. To qualify for membership in SCMS you must be a current or past Regional Director, Regional Council Committee Chair, Regional Council Officer, National Committee Member, Voting Member of the National Board of Directors, or a National Officer of IMA. If you meet any of the requirements and apply for SCMS membership, you can be inducted at the annual meeting, mid-year meeting or any other meeting by a member of the SCMS Board of Governors (as long as only SCMS members are present). SCMS is also known as the “Society for Continuing Member Service.” In order to stay viable and continue to serve our members, we need your support, participation, attendance, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can serve you better. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the members of the Board of Governors listed in the Board section of this website.
